The Gallery of Rugs Directory
The directory was created as a gathering place for our clients and affiliates to share information related to the Persian and Oriental Rug industry, an ancient and time-honored profession and product line. The photo gallery includes many images from the Middle East on actual work being performed on American rugs by craftsmen trained in the original hand-made process.
Our First Excerpt...
"There were over 420 different villages in Persia that made rugs, all with a different style. The people made the rugs first for their own use and then for sale. Rug making was their entire life, and it was a family endeavor. The father and mother would plan the rug like architects, drawing the rug's design on the ground with charcoal or a dry stick. Then the father would build the loom, after which the entire family would then begin weaving the rug."
